2. Core Theory

2.1 Core Concepts

The concepts, principles and structures that is at the core of the CUBE® frameworks design and purpose.

2.2 Main Components

The CUBE® framework consists of three main components: the organisation, the cornerstones and the outcome values.

2.3 Cornerstones

The Cornerstones are essential practice that permeates all layers of the organisation and must embed everything.

2.4 Organisation Layers

The organisation is in the centre of the CUBE® framework. It represents a collection of people working together in different layers to provide some kind of outcome value to their stakeholders.

2.5 Outcome Values

2.6 The Larger Context

All organisations are CUBEs®. The framework does not only apply to an individual organisation, it applies to the whole value network of organisations.

3. Asset Theory

3.1 The Asset

The Asset is a key concept in the CUBE® framework and can represent many different things. The trick is to describe things in a consistent format and writing it down.

3.2 Document Types

All assets are built up by different parts that together describes a system that is the asset. This system is based on a few different types of documents that fulfils different purposes in the description of the asset.

3.3 Asset Architecture

There are dependencies between all assets and it is important that the dependency is clear and managed. The asset architecture and management systems helps achieve this.

4. Method

4.1 Method Overview

The method to turn the theory into practice comes to life through the method and with the theory as the foundation.

4.2 Asset Management

Each asset needs to be designed, maintained, and decommissioned once irrelevant. This is the asset lifecycle that all assets goes through.

4.3 Asset Lifecycle Process Steps

The practical steps how to design, maintain and decommission assets are described in the Asset Lifecycle Process.

4.4 Practical Examples

The practical examples paints a picture how the application of the CUBE® method can play out in real life.

5. Asset Library

The Asset library contains best-practice, examples, templates, guides and references how to get started with each Asset as well as Asset Architecture.
